What is "LOVE"?

Sometimes mommy is cracking my head thinking on how to instill the value of understanding and non self-centered to Eeanne. Yesterday morning, as usual whenever Eeanne woke up earlier than mommy, she will try to wake up everyone and keep nagging on "mommy....play with me...."

Mommy has to admit occasionally this really agitated me especially mommy was so..... tired and wanted to take a little longer sleep. So when mommy rejected Eeanne's invite to play, Eeanne started to be cranky, cried and nagged "mommy don't love me....", "mommy don't sayang me....", "mommy don't want to play with me...." Until daddy cannot "tahan" and moved out to the other room to sleep.

Hai....for Eeanne, play is associated with "LOVE". So.... tiredly mommy had no choice to drag myself up and sat up to explain patiently to Eeanne.

So what is LOVE? LOVE is about understanding, caring and trust.

To let Eeanne understands better, mommy elaborated like this:

-mommy understands that Eeanne need to be smart to have a better quality life in future, so mommy buys lots of books for Eeanne

- mommy understands the important of the value of manners, filial piety and be patience, so mommy always teach and tell Eeanne to be a good girl.

- mommy understands that Eeanne like to listen to story, so every night mommy will read story for Eeanne before she sleep

- mommy understands that Eeanne likes to watch Mickey Mouse and princess, so mommy daddy will bring Eeanne to HK Disneyland.

...and so on...

So Eeanne listened and her facial expression showed some kind of awareness, then she started to reason out and said:

- so mommy loves me and buy me the piggy bank? (Yes)

- so mommy loves me and buy me the princess toys? (Yes)

- so mommy loves me and bring me go "kai kai" (outing) (Yes)

...and so on which Eeanne started to associate loves with some materials stuff! oh oh...

So mommy quickly did the recovery to explain further and try to disassociate "LOVE" with material & tangible stuff.

So the dictionary definition of LOVE as intense feelings towards something is really something from within which is indescribable by words...mmm....how deep does Eeanne understand, mommy really has no idea....

BUT...surprisingly, this morning, when Eeanne woke up earlier as usual, the previous cranky behaviour has gone, to mommy's surprise she said:

"mommy, if you are tired you go and sleep, then if later you are not tired only you come downstair, ok...." then she just walked down the staircase and looked for kakak.

Mommy's heart is so touch, raising a child is really need patience and passion and sometimes we need to give them and ourselves some times to see the result. Along the road, Eeanne is teaching mommy to be a better and patience mommy...thank you Eeanne....:-)
