The Making of Eeanne's Birthday Party Part I (Pre-event)

After much planning and thinking, we decided to have a mini size party to celebrate Eeanne's 3 y.o. birthday. This party objective is solely meant for Eeanne, not just for adult gathering. As in Eeanne's 2 y.o. birthday, we had steamboat at home with only Chloe, Max and Ian, so this round we decided to have more kids around and invited few of mommy's and daddy's friends and their children.

It took mommy's almost a month to do the preparation, mommy spent each night after work to come out Eeanne's video clip. As a non-techno savvy mommy, it is really quite time consuming to produce even a single simple video clip with song, think this job can be done just within 1 hour by a IT man..:P

Initially it was mommy's ideal plan to have 3 shows, 1 solely on picture slide show from baby to 1 y.o., 1 video show from 1yo. till now, but since video capture is not much, so thinking to have the 3rd slide show mainly on Eeanne's recent activities.

But after finished the 1 and 2nd show, mommy faced the problem on burning it into CD!(really lousy in IT), mommy has wasted few CD and still not able to burn a single one. It was another 2 days to the party, so mommy has gave up the 3rd show making..sorry Eeanne....will save it for next birthday maybe:-). But on the party day, so lucky to have Uncle Sean to assist mommy on how to burn the video show into CD, and mommy made it finally, yeh...! Even though it is too late after the party which mommy can't show it on TV to the guests, at least mommy can save a copy for collection! Still... the 2nd show unable to be burned due to the software error, it can only be watched from mommy's labtop, think have to redo one day :-(

An e-invitation card that mommy made for Eeanne. Mommy's first art work after so many years, so proud to show off to all, so mommy down-size it and sent to friends via text messages, pitifully some of the handphones are not compatible to receive mommy's this hardwork:-/

Mommy and Eeanne spent one whole Saturday afternoon to pack all the door gifts for kids.

Some of the freebies to give away on the party games

Special thanks to Kong Kong & Bo Bo for helping to blow all these balloons and create the party mood with this decoration
But the "Happy Birthday" hanging mobiles was daddy's dedication, because of this hanging mobile, daddy got his head knocked by the cabinet door just the night before the party day and ended up admitted midnight for the head X-ray! Luckily there was no inner injury. Daddy needs to be more mindful.

Special thanks to Ma ma and kakak in preparing all these tasty food. Of course besides these, there were other catering dishes.
haha..this is mommy's labtop special arranged by daddy to let the guests to enjoy the video clip show. Daddy said mommy's hard work couldn't be wasted even though it can't be burned into CD.
Princess theatre show and the scrapboard made by mommy for guest to put down their memorable signatures

Anticipating for the event.....

Happy Birthday Eeanne!

27th May 2010 - Today is the BIG day! It is Eeanne's 3 years old birthday! Time flies, it seems just yesterday Eeanne was a little cute baby, sleeping in mommy's lap and showing her toothless smile...mmm..mommy really miss all those days.

Eeanne is mommy's closest friend now, we talked everything under the roof, we joked, we played and sang, Eeanne gives mommy the feeling of being in a love relationship..haha.

We had a pre-birthday party last Saturday (check it out in my next blog)

Today, we had a second round cake blowing, mommy bought Eeanne a Barbie doll homemade jelly cake, it is so attractive and Eeanne loved it so much especially on the half-body doll. This time there were only yeye, mama, daddy, mommy and kakak celebrating for Eeanne, no gifts (which already received plenty last Sat) and no guests, just a lovely simple birthday ritual.

Mention about birthday ritual....today mommy called back to Eeanne from office in the morning:

Mommy: Happy birthday Eeanne!
Eeanne: Thank you mommy. (pitifully)mommy...mama knocked my head er.....very painful and red red now.
Momy(shocked): why did mama knock your head?
Eeanne(innoncent): I don't know, I'm not naughty but mama knocked my head.
Mommy(doubtful): Really, there must be a reason that mama knocked on your head.
Eeanne(still blur): mama knocked on my head because today is my birthday....

:-0 ...(oh...Eeanne was referring to the ritual of knocking the red-dyed egg on the forehead, haha)

Later when mommy was back(both mommy and daddy took half day leave just want to accompany Eeanne, just the three of us, mommy repeated the ritual on Eeanne(which supposingly to be done by the mother), indeed it was quite painful and Eeanne frowned on each knock and quite reluctantly to accept this "nenek moyang" ritual :-[

A sudden flash back...when was the last time mommy receive this ritual from boh boh???

It is a bit "lou tou" ritual but a good memorable one...:-)

So today is special dedicated to Eeanne, we went to Sunway Pyramid indoor mini playground, Eeanne had a enjoyful ride on the Ferrry Wheel, Aeroplane and Animal train. And we had dinner at Sakae Sushi again just because Eeanne likes the fried rice previously...
Everything went as planned except we had to cancel the trip to Vihara temple at Brickfield as what annually did(tomorrow is Wesak Day), Eeanne was too tired the falling asleep, so we have to change plan to Subang Jaya Buddhist Association tomorrow morning.

Everyone is so amazed with this Barbie doll jelly cake

Letting Go...

Today finally mommy has made the decision of "LETTING GO" of something which mommy should do it when Eeanne was born. The many dilemas, paranoid and future worries have delay mommy's plan all these years.

One day last week, mommy was so surprise to see Eeanne climbing up slowly on the adult potty, 2 hands grabbing on the side tightly to pee. Eeanne did it so expertly which made mommy stood still for a second. All this while mommy has been thinking to get Eeanne a small stool for her to stand on it to make her easily sit on the potty. Until that day, mommy realise Eeanne is really a grown up girl now.

When checking back with mama and kakak, then only find out actually Eeanne is already independent on doing her toilet business from taking out her pants, sitting on the potty and then wearing back her pants since few months back! That few seconds moment, mommy really felt so bad and guilty, mommy didn't even know Eeanne has reach this another milestone, this simple daily training is not even from mommy, it is from kakak!!...oh no...mommy felt so ashamed for that moment.....

Will this incident that awaken mommy's long ignorance and worries? I'm not sure really....but not long after that incident then mommy finally has the courage to let go.....

I'm sorry Eeanne that mommy can't totally fulfill your needs and giving you the full attention during the years that you most needed it, but mommy can reassure you that you will soon gets your double compensation for years to come. Hope it is never too late...

Of course this great sacrifice comes with some downfalls, there can't be anymore too luxury life, but of course mommy will not neglect Eeanne's basic needs.

Now only mommy truly feels the love and sacrifice of a mother.....instead of feeling hard to let go, now mommy only feels my heart is smiling...:-)

The reality of life?

Eeanne has just finished watching the Pocahontas VCD yesterday night which we bought from The Border yesterday. Eeanne likes most of the Disney movies, mainly the songs sang in the movies, whenever came to the singing scene, Eeanne will just stopped whatever she was doing and went near to the TV and tried hard to follow each single words of the songs.

So far Eeanne has been watching all those princess movie (such as Snow White, Cinderalla, Little Mermaid, Alladin, Beauty and the Beast, Princess Arora and Mulan), and none of them have given the reaction of what Eeanne had after watching the Pocahontas.

If you have watched Pocahontas before, John Smith left Pocahontas in the end, it was not a happy ending type of love story.

Immediately the screen shown "The End", Eeanne opened her eyes widely, very unhappily and asked:
"why no happy ending one?"
"why they kiss but not marry?
"

????? :-(
oh oh....mommy was stunned for a while, thinking for an appropriate answer to reply, so mommy said:"yes it is a happy ending, John needs to go back hometown to see Dr, then he will come back to marry Pocahontas".

It is a white lie....
- Shall mommy tell Eeanne the real ending?
- Shall mommy let Eeanne know the realistic of life which is not always end with happy ending?
- How should mommy tell Eeanne on the opposite side of happy ending that she used to watch from all those princess stories?
- So are those princess stories giving a real or false perception about life?

mmmm....there are points to ponder....

Books Shopping on Labor Day

It has been some times that we didn't shop at The Curve due to the long distance, nowadays Sunway Pyramind has been our frequent patronized complex.

As today daddy has to work at Ikano, so mommy thought of bringing Eeanne to meet up daddy during his work and bring Eeanne to Popular bookshop, so we left approximately at 11a.m.

Oh...the jam is incredible along the way until Eeanne lost her patience, kept nagging.."where is the book shop?" Mommy drove almost an hour to reach and couldn't even go into the mall, so mommy decided to park and shop at The Curve instead. (the Crocs warehouse sale crowd at Ikano was crazy according to daddy)

We had a great time in the whole afternoon at The Curve, instead of heading to The Border bookshop, we shopped midway at the concourse MPH member sale, wah...there are so many good deals there. It was so irresistable looking at all those books. Mommy is so grateful that Eeanne is just like mommy daddy....a book maniac, she is so interested on all those colorful pictorial children books, took it one by one into the stroller and said "mommy buy this".

After the shopping, we met daddy for lunch at Winter Warm, the least pack at the lunch hour.

See Eeanne's poise...:-/ She was so fascinated by the mother cow and calf just infront of the restaurant.

After the lunch, daddy had to go back to his work. Eeanne & mommy continued with our book shopping at The Border, better environment and we stacked the books and found a corner to sit and read for almost 3 hours! Then we headed back around 5.30p.m., by that time Eeanne was obviously noticeable on her tireness and hunger. This was the first outing trip that mommy didn't bring along the thermos intentionally, planning to slowly replace with snack instead of giving milk to Eeanne, this will make each trip more convenience and furthermore Eeanne should eat like what we eat. Of course mommy brought the milk powder for just in case, so on the way back, we stopped at Starbuck and mommy thicken the face skin to ask for 1oz of hot water..haha....

But at least Eeanne didn't call for milk during our trip, yeh...we can plan for a convenient oversea trip soon hopefully...

So these are what we ended up buying....

Mommy finds this is the most worthy merchandise, consists of a mini theater, 4 princesses and their other characters miniature, Eeanne is really enjoying this mini stage play.
This only cost RM24.90 before another 20% discount...good deal good deal..:-)
