What has Eeanne learn from Malaysia GE13?

Early this month, we just had our Malaysia 13th general election.  There were many postings about this election in the FB and everyone was full with hope and positive energy looking forward to this GE13. It is a shame that mommy never paid much attention on our own country election all this while, but this GE13 was really different that recorded the highest voters ever in history, which also was mommy's first time going back hometown to vote!!

Pre-election:

As usual, one will see many parties flags hanging on the road side.  This will definitely create lots of quiries from the young kids as I believe.  Eeanne is not exempted.  Thus, explanation was given on the party names and their flag symbols.  Curiously at the age of 6, Eeanne had a lot of doubts on what is politics.  So daddy is always the wise man to explain things in depth especially comes to this topic of discussion.  Therefore, Eeanne was first time exposed to the meaning of government, democracy, opposition parties, human right and voters.

Post-election:
It was a great shock to most of the Malaysians when the GE13 results were finally declared.   Disappointment, frustration, losing hopes, demotivated and all sorts of negative feelings emerged immediately on the next morning.  One thing to be proud of is at least we have seen a group of educated, civilized and united nation.  There are lots of things all Malaysians have learned from this GE13, at least on the awareness of change is not instant, it needs time.

For mommy, as a first time voter and politic illiterate citizen, I have learn to be more mature in looking at things, less impulsive and to be more patience.  In order to have a good positive change, it needs to start from the root of our education system, which almost is every parent's no. 1 concern and worry.  Mommy will not comment much here on our education system, Eeanne will eventually go through it and self-realise on its change in order to have your own intellectual comparison and comments.

For mommy and daddy, what we think crucially important are Eeanne's personal value, wisdom, EQ, and the ability to enjoy life's achievement and to overcome life's downturn with integrity and positive mindset.   Mommy strongly believes all these values and characteristics are to be mold from a healthy, happy and positive family.  That is the fundamental mission from daddy and mommy to provide a family-oriented platform for you to grow respectfully, self-contentedly and gracefully.

So that is what mommy has learn from this GE13.  How about Eeanne?

Immediately after coming back from Melaka on the election day, Eeanne set up her own mini polling station.  These are what she has learned:

You need to have an identity as Malaysian to be eligible to vote

You need to know the participating parties, in order to choose one to rule your country.
Your choice is confidential, only you to know which party that you will elect
This is an invalid vote, as you can't choose more than one party!!

You need to be stamped with indelible ink after voting to avoid  casting your ballot twice
So at least Eeanne also learned something from this GE13, at least the disciplinary concept and the principles of non-fraudulence.;-)

Difficult Question posted....

Every Friday, it is Eeanne's drama and speech class, which is one of her favourite class that she enjoys the most.  As usual mommy will rush back from work, bring Eeanne for a quick dinner and then bring her to the class.

The center is located in a very strategic area which you will hardly get a parking lot.  Sometimes mommy was forced to do illegal parking due to time constraint.

On this particular day, as usual we were rushing for the class.  And it was our lucky day as we were able to get a nice parking lot just immediately opposite the center.  As mommy finally parked the car and almost switch off the engine, sudden Eeanne asked: "mommy...what is ubat kuat lelaki?"

Oh...there was a BIG DIRTY poster pasted just infront of our car written "UBAT KUAT LELAKI"

Mmmm....mommy had a deep thought for a second, figuring on how to explain this to a 5 1/2 yo girl. Then finally mommy gave a lousy direct translation answer to Eeanne.  Mommy said.....
Ubat is medicine
Kuat is strong
Lelaki is man
So it means medication to keep the man stay strong...

So mommy took the opportunity to explain further from the pharmacist's point of view.

All the medication should be taken from your doctors or pharmacists with proper advice and counseling.  You should not simply believe whatever the advertisement shown (like in this poster) and get your medication from sources other than your doctors and pharmacists.  So this is a bad poster advertisement which not supposed to be here.

So Eeanne understand and did not pursue further...phew...

Wisdom words from Eeanne

It is always a Chinese tradition to gamble..I don't know:-/
Perhaps Chinese are so optimistic with their own destined luck.

Today mummy and daddy learn an precious insight from eeanne.  This is what Eeanne has taught us about gambling...don't know where she pick this up:-)

Eeanne: "first time is ok, second time is still ok...but third time and forth times, it is already a habit!" Wow...:-o
Furthermore, she added on....: "if you stop gambling for one year, you can cut out the habit."

This is my girl:-)

My Happy Family
