The Benefits of Going to Kindy...

I believe most children will benefit from going to kindy, and that is why nowadays even 2yo children are already enter into kindy school life.

The fact of school benefit is clearly shown on Eeanne. Even on the 1st day of school, when Eeanne came back, she was like turning into a new leaf!

Why does mommy say so?

Yesterday when Eeanne finished playing all her miniature toys, before we were going out to the park, suddenly Eeanne said "wait mommy, I need to clean up my toys first."
?????????
Wah...usually mommy will need to instruct Eeanne to do so, or when come to going out, she will be the first to stand up and wait at the door, throwing and ignoring all her toys for kakak to clean up. But today, she willingly and automatically took her own sweet time to clean without any commands or nagging from mommy...:-s

Then in the car, mommy always put the Peter & Jane book for Eeanne to read. Each time there must be some bribe in exchange in order for Eeanne to read 2 or 3 pages, but yesterday, on the way to the park, once settled down in the car, Eeanne suddenly mentioned "mmm, let me read the book first..", then she just read and read until we reached the park...no exchange of any other games or deal at all!!

Just a merely 4 hours 1st day in school can bring such a impact and attitude changes in Eeanne, even better than mommy's 3 years of long winded teaching effort...

Think peers' influence and self esteem on positive self image in front of peers can really make a kid behave!

1st Day in Kindergarten!

All the waiting moments have finally arrived!

Today is Eeanne first day to kindy! It is just a walking distance from our house! (purposely chosen)

Mommy and daddy were so excited and took leave to bring Eeanne to school, even mama was also joining and anxious to see Eeanne carrying her bag and walk to school, haha!

Mommy set the alarm clock at 6.30am but forgot to turn on the button:-? (silly) Luckily daddy woke up sharp at 7am. Actually both daddy mommy hardly fell asleep the night before, we were so excited to see Eeanne at schoolJ

So how did my little princess react in the morning 7am? (this lazy bug is used to wake up at 9am).

7.15am-mommy was almost panic as Eeanne used her pillow to cover her whole face to turned back to mommy’s call! No choice, mommy had to carry Eeanne and forced her to go into the washroom. So all the wash up and dress up were carried out in a blink and we settled at down stair at 7.40am(really mo…)

7.40am-mommy tied Eeanne’s hair and gave her a few spoon of her usual vege drink and half sausage(mommy already gave her a bottle of milk upon wake up at 7am while Eeanne was still sleeping). Mommy’s initial plan to self make a 爱心breakfast for Eeanne is just remain a plan (pai se) as mommy was too rush to make all things in such a short period of time! Luckily kakak had already fried an extra sausage, thus mommy just put it into Eeanne’s lunch box with a slice of bread, that was enough to make mommy felt so contented..haha.

7.50am-Mommy daddy each gave Eeanne an 1st day schooling Ang Pow (so "lou tou"), after make a prayer to the Buddha statue, 4 of us walked across the road to the school gate. We thought we were late but Eeanne was one of the first few early birds! When we reached, mommy realized that we have forgotten Eeanne’s water tumbler (see how clumsy mommy is..;-/), luckily we are so near that daddy made a trip back to take the tumbler…

The moment Eeanne went into the school, she was asked by the teacher to say goodbye to mommy and daddy, and sure you are Eeanne just waved and smiled goodbye to us! No sign of clinging, she was so fully attracted by all the small children, can’t wait to join them! ;-0

Suddenly mommy felt a sense of loss…Eeanne is having her own circle of friend now, no more needing mommy as her close companion..sob sob…

We spent half an hour to observe Eeanne to ensure she is really ok…(later after school, we received the comment from teacher that Eeanne is very very OK and steady J despite seeing all the crying from the newbies. (feel so proud..haha)

By this time, mommy and daddy were having the same loss feeling, we almost shedding our tears…(sampat). Finally we left the school after seeing her went up to her 4yo class at up stair. (we returned after 1 ½ hour to peep through the door and found Eeanne was really enjoy herself..hehe)

The school recessed at 12noon, by the time we reached again to the kindy, Eeanne was already waiting for us with her bag, she looked tired and asked “can we go home now?” (after reach home with a milk fed and shower, Eeanne had her long 2 hours nap which is unusually longer than her usual only 1 hour nap)

So mommy daddy made it a point to make sure Eeanne brief us on her school life every day, so she vividly told us part by part that mommy needed to fix her story puzzle to guess what was really the sequence of her activities.

So...finally my little princess has grown up!

There will be more stories to blog on her school embarking experience...mommy is really looking forward to share her another stage of growing adventure...:-)

It was still early, Eeanne just took out some games to entertain herself.

Small library corner, Eeanne choose her favourite Cinderella.

Eeanne needs interaction, telling the story to teacher and to soothe the crying mei mei.

At the upstair 4yo class...Eeanne wandering around to look for her targeted games.

haha...found it!

Eeanne was so concentrate on her own games.

Ta da...another mission accomplished.

Schoolbag in hand, she leaves home in the early morning waving goodbye with an absent-minded smile
I watch her go with a surge of that well known sadness and I have to sit down for a while, the feeling that I’m loosing her forever and without really entering her world. I’m glad whenever I can share her laughter, that funny little girl

Slipping through my fingers all the time, I try to capture every minute the feeling in it, slipping through my fingers all the time.
Do I really see what’s in her mind? each time I think I’m close to knowing...she keeps on growing, slipping through my fingers all the time.

Sleep in our eyes, her and me at the breakfast table, barely awake I let precious time go by. Then when she’s gone there’s that odd melancholy feeling and a sense of guilt I can’t deny. What happened to the wonderful adventures, the places I had planned for us to go? Well.. some of that we did but most we didn’t and why I just don’t know.

Sometimes I wish that I could freeze the picture and save it from the funny tricks of time. Slipping through my fingers....

My Happy Family
